About us

Haliotis was created in 2004, in a time when diving in Portugal was mainly a weekend activity we dared do something new.

After 22 years we have six dive centers and have been providing equipment's, dive trips and training to thousands of clients.

In Haliotis you find not only a business but the passion for all things dive related, giving us a unique perspective on the dive business.

We always had dive shops in our dive centers and have been Aqualung partners for more than 20 years, so if you are a beginner, an advanced diver, a tech diver, a cave diver, an instructor or trainer you have come to the right place.

Peniche

Located in main land Portugal, Peniche is about 90km north of Lisbon, and it was where we started in 2004. All the dives are done in Berlengas Natural Reserve the oldest in main land Portugal. A group of Islands about 7 nautical miles from the coast you will be going to and oasis of life offering wrecks, caverns and big schools of fish amongst many other things!

Sesimbra

Located in main land Portugal, Sesimbra is about 60km south of Lisbon. Opened in 2012 because of its location, inside Parque Marinho Luis Saldanha Natural Reserve. Being the only bay in Portugal facing south the conditions for diving all year round are great. You will find a huge diversity of species with more than two thousand identified so far.

Santa Maria

Located in Santa Maria, the southernmost island of the Azores, our dive centre offers access to some of the Atlantic’s most spectacular diving. With crystal-clear waters, volcanic seascapes, reefs and underwater arches, the island is famous for its rich marine life and pelagic encounters, including mobula rays, sharks, tuna and whale sharks during the summer months.

Faial

Located in Faial, in the heart of the Azores, our dive centre offers access to some of the Atlantic’s most diverse underwater landscapes. Surrounded by volcanic reefs, walls and offshore dive sites, Faial is known for its rich marine life, clear blue waters and exciting pelagic encounters, including mobula rays, sharks, tuna and large schools of fish during the summer months.

Madeira

Located on the beautiful island of Madeira, our dive centre offers access to crystal-clear waters, dramatic volcanic reefs and thriving marine life. From colourful reefs and underwater caves to encounters with groupers, rays, moray eels and large schools of fish, Madeira is a year-round diving destination with something for every diver.

Cabo Verde - São Vicente

Located in São Vicente, Cape Verde, our dive centre offers access to warm tropical waters, dramatic volcanic reefs and thriving marine life. From colourful coral formations and lava rock landscapes to encounters with turtles, rays, reef sharks and large schools of tropical fish, São Vicente offers unforgettable diving all year round.
